AUSSIE RULES REPORTER
Centre Bounce is a weekly online show that covers South Australian football (Aussie Rules) competitions. The show airs every week on the Centre Bounce website and YouTube and on Social Media. The show features live and pre-recorded interviews with players, coaches and officials and fans. Game review and previews, game footage. Skills segments and competitions.
A sports reporter will cover all Aussie Rules-related news, both on-the-field and off, and will be specifically expected to:
— Monitor the news daily to keep abreast of all South Australian Aussie Rules news & events and issues that need to be covered and see that no pertinent news is missed.
— Ensure that all areas of the game of Aussie Rules are regularly covered. At the minimum, the sports desk must regularly cover:
- — South Australian National Football League
- — AFL
- — Local Club Competitions
— Coordinate with the graphics department to ensure as many stories as
possible have a visual element with them by posting a photo and graphics tip sheets, and when appropriate, by taking a camera on assignment to shoot photographs.
— Write a minimum of 35 inches of copy per week (additional writing is

in the studio and out in the field for Centre Bounce.

— Become extremely familiar with the rules of Associated Press and Emerald style.
— Ensure, to the best of your ability, that all your writing is accurate, fair, clear and complete.
— Work with the Aussie Rules editor to improve your writing.
— Finish all writing on deadline.
— Keep regular office hours.
— Attend required staff meetings and weekly desk meetings.
— Set individual goals each term to improve your journalistic skills.

Requirements: Must be or have studied journalism or Media Communication degree at University.
