An update from CEO, Peter Filopoulos
To our Victorian football community,
We’ve all endured a tough few months, navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. While the impact of the virus has been different on all facets of our community, nobody has escaped its effects on our day-to-day lives.
I applaud our Clubs, on their creativity and adaptability in remaining connected with their players. We’ve seen a number of terrific initiatives, from remote training sessions via video conferencing, to skills sheets and drill videos. This connection is what will poise our game for a rapid recovery, when the authorities allow football to resume.
We’d also like to thank our loyal Football Victoria partners and Community in Business members for their ongoing support, and send our heartfelt gratitude to the club sponsors that are standing by the clubs at this most challenging time.
We’re certainly not through this crisis yet. But we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The FFA has produced guidelines in readiness for a return to football and the staff at Football Victoria have been actively planning for a range of scenarios to get us all back on the pitch. We hope for good news from the government in the coming weeks that will allow us to return – safely – to the game we all love.
Until then, please stay safe, stay in touch and we will get through this together.
Sincerely yours in football,
