The Port Adelaide Football Club is thrilled to announce KFC as a new joint major partner under a multi-year deal connecting one of the world’s most recognisable brands with one of Australia’s most successful sporting organisations.

The partnership also marks the first time KFC has entered a major partnership with an AFL Club, demonstrating the confidence it has in the future direction of Port Adelaide and the continued growth of the AFL.

Chairman David Koch said the club was delighted to welcome another significant partner to the Port Adelaide family.

“KFC is a much-loved brand in Australia, and Port Adelaide could not be prouder of this partnership,” Mr Koch said.

“Given the challenges of 2020, it is great recognition of the future direction of our club that we can contribute to attract great brands like KFC to Port Adelaide.

“KFC now join GFG and MG as a joint major partner marking the first time in our history that we’ve had three joint major partners, all committed long term to the club. We could not be more  thrilled to welcome KFC to the Port Adelaide family.

“With the addition of KFC, we continue our strategic drive to broaden Port Adelaide’s reach and make ourselves a bigger player in the national and international market.”

Kristi Woolrych, Chief Marketing Officer of KFC Australia says:

“We’ve always known our fans love footy, so it’s very exciting to finally bring the two together. Port Adelaide has such a loyal and growing group of supporters, and we’re looking forward to the fun and excitement this partnership will bring. The club had an amazing season this year, ad we’re hoping that with the support of the The Colonel, they’ll be able to bring home the silverware in 2021!”

Mr Koch said KFC were a fun, family brand which aligned strongly to Port Adelaide’s beliefs.

“I have said for many years footy should be fun and an enjoyable experience for the entire family, ” he said.

“And you can tell from KFC’s campaigns that they don’t take themselves too seriously and are all about sharing fun and creating memorable moments with family and friends. They’re very much the lovable larrikins, and we can relate to that. We can’t wait to partner with KFC to bring the fun back into footy.

“We are very grateful for the support KFC  has extended to Port Adelaide and the belief it has shown in our future. We look forward to working with them for many years to come.”

The iconic KFC logo will be seen on the front of the playing shorts and on the back of the guernsey above the number panel. The logo will also appear on the club’s media backdrop.
