In a game that went down to the wire, North Bears hung on in this contest to edge out Canberra by three points.
The Bears looked in control towards the end of the game, but a surprise run from Canberra saw it come down to the final possession.
A total team effort was behind the Bears win, with four starters scoring at least 13 points, but it was Canberra’s Tonks who was the standout of the game – a 20 point-11 rebound double-double with five assists for good measure.
