South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) Sports Science and Sports Medicine Manager John Porter said Cameron has quickly begun the recovery process.

“Cameron sustained a right calf strain at training and has commenced rehab, including low intensity running. His return to play time frame will become clearer as he progresses this week,” Porter said.

Adelaide Strikers Head Coach Jason Gillespie said the squad will rally around Boyce after the untimely injury.

“We are absolutely gutted for Cam and we will do everything we can to support him and hopefully get him back out onto the field as soon as possible,” Gillespie said.

“No doubt Cam will still have a big impact on the group off the field during this period.”

The Adelaide Strikers begin their BBL12 campaign against the Sydney Sixers at Adelaide Oval this coming Wednesday with first ball scheduled for 6:45pm.
