For the first time in the network’s history, Ozsports Radio is giving everyday Australians a chance to host a national Breakfast show. This December, a brand-new Breakfast show will go to air nationally for Pilot Week, a bold new initiative giving fresh voices a shot at the big time on Australia’s most iconic online sports radio network.
Beginning Monday, 15 December, Pilot Week is a national radio first: a week-long showcase of emerging Breakfast radio talent, with each new show having a chance to become the next staple of the Ozsports Radio lineup.
Entries will be reviewed over the coming weeks and narrowed down to a Top 10. From there, five final shows will be selected to broadcast nationally on Ozsports Radio from 6–8 am, during Pilot Week, Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19.
Ozsports Radio has a long history of discovering and developing Australian talent. The network’s Pilot Week search proves that fresh, authentic, personality-led content can cut through in a competitive radio landscape.
Darren Andrews, OON Head of Broadcast Content, said: “Ozsports Radio has always been about big personalities, creating world-class content. Pilot Week opens the door for fresh voices to jump behind the mic and have an opportunity for an exciting career in radio.
“The audio industry is booming, and there’s incredible creative energy across the country, from podcasters and comics to online storytellers. Ozsports Radio’s Pilot Week is the perfect opportunity for anyone who’s ever listened to radio’s great sports personalities and thought, “I reckon I could do that!” Andrews concluded.
The five Pilot Week shows broadcast nationally across Ozsports Radio and stream online. Applications open on Friday, October 31, and close on Friday, 15 November. To apply or submit a demo, visit and type the email production@ozsportsonline.com in space to send to https://wetransfer.com/
